Adoption is a great way to help Keep California Beautiful.
Adopting an area is a proven and effective way to address persistent dumping and littering and helps keep these areas trash-free. All it takes is a concerned person or group of volunteers and a commitment to be part of the solution in keeping California clean.
The Caltrans Adopt-A-Highway Program, which began in 1989 provides an avenue for individuals, organizations, or businesses to help maintain sections of roadside within California’s State Highway System.
The California Coastal Commission has created The Adopt-A-Beach® program in an effort to help keep Californias coast line litter free and allow volunteers to foster feelings of pride and ownership as they begin to care for “their” beach.
Contact your local government for information on the many ways you can adopt a street, park or spot in your community.
